The short version:
  • We collect the account, profile, study, and technical information needed to run JEETrack.
  • We use PostHog for product analytics and session replay to understand bugs and product usage.
  • Razorpay processes optional support contributions. Payment details are handled through Razorpay rather than stored by JEETrack.
  • We don't sell your personal data or use it for third-party advertising.
  • You can export or request deletion of your JEETrack data at any time, subject to limited legal, backup, or provider retention.

1Overview

JEETrack is a study-tracking web app and Progressive Web App for JEE aspirants in India, available at www.jeetrack.in. It is built and operated by an individual developer, not a registered company.

This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we use it, which providers process it, and the choices available to you.

2What we collect

Account & profile information

  • Email address and account credentials through Supabase Authentication
  • Name and profile picture when provided through Google Sign-In
  • Display name, avatar, academic year, target JEE year, study mode, and coaching information you choose to provide

Study data

  • Mock test scores, subject breakdowns, dates, and notes
  • Study hours and timer sessions
  • Syllabus progress
  • To-do and backlog items, goals, and feedback you send us

Technical & usage data

We and our providers may process information such as browser/device information, IP address, timestamps, pages or features used, interaction events, and session activity. This helps us operate, secure, debug, and improve JEETrack.

We do not intentionally ask JEETrack users for government ID numbers, precise GPS location, or full payment credentials for the app itself.

3How we use data

  • Create and secure accounts and sync your study data
  • Generate dashboards, charts, streaks, reports, and other app features
  • Generate AI Insights when you request them
  • Send transactional emails and optional reminders or monthly reports
  • Understand feature usage, diagnose bugs, improve performance, and decide what to build
  • Process and support optional contributions to JEETrack
  • Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data and JEETrack does not run third-party advertising.

4Analytics & session replay

JEETrack uses PostHog for product analytics and session replay. This helps us understand how features are used, reproduce bugs, identify confusing interactions, and improve the Service. PostHog provides product analytics and session replay as part of its platform. See PostHog's Privacy Policy for its own processing practices.

Depending on how the Service is configured, PostHog may receive information such as interaction events, page or feature usage, browser/device information, timestamps, and session recordings of interactions with the app. Session replay can capture visual and interaction activity during a session. We configure tracking to support product improvement and should not intentionally send passwords or payment credentials as analytics data.

Session recordings are not the same as screen access. They record interactions with JEETrack through the web app; they do not give JEETrack access to unrelated activity elsewhere on your device.

PostHog may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies to provide its analytics features. Its processing is also governed by PostHog's own privacy and contractual terms.

5AI Insights

When you request AI Insights, JEETrack sends a summary of relevant academic data, such as scores, study hours, syllabus progress, and backlog information, through our backend to Groq so it can generate the requested analysis.

The request is designed to include the information needed for the analysis rather than your account credentials. AI Insights are generated only when you request them, not continuously in the background.

Groq's handling of API data is governed by its own policies and terms. Please review its privacy documentation for details about its processing.

We may also disclose information when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of JEETrack or others.

7Storage, security & retention

Your account and study data are stored through Supabase. Row Level Security is used to restrict database access, and communications with our backend use HTTPS. JEETrack may also store cached or local copies of app data in your browser for performance and offline-friendly behavior.

We use reasonable security measures, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

We generally retain account and study data while your account is active. After deletion, some information may remain temporarily in backups, logs, fraud-prevention records, or provider systems where necessary for security, legal, accounting, or regulatory reasons, after which it is deleted or otherwise handled according to applicable retention requirements.

8Your rights & deletion

You can access, correct, export, and delete your JEETrack data through available account controls, or contact us for help.

  • Export: Use Settings → Data & Backup to export available backups/reports.
  • Delete data: Use Settings → Data & Backup → Reset All Data where available.
  • Delete your account: Contact support@jeetrack.in.
  • Notifications: You can disable optional push notifications and report emails from the relevant settings or browser permissions.

For information processed directly by third-party providers such as PostHog or Razorpay, their own privacy policies and legal retention requirements may also apply.

9Children & minors

JEETrack is designed for JEE aspirants, many of whom are under 18. If you are under 18, use JEETrack with the awareness and, where required by applicable law, consent of a parent or legal guardian.

We do not knowingly use minors' data for advertising. If a parent or guardian believes a minor has provided personal information and wants it reviewed or deleted, contact support@jeetrack.in.

10Cookies, notifications & changes

JEETrack and its providers may use cookies, local storage, service workers, authentication tokens, or similar technologies for login, caching, analytics, session replay, and notifications. You can control some of these technologies through browser or device settings, although disabling them may affect functionality.

We may update this policy when JEETrack or its providers change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above and, where appropriate, notifying users in-app.
